THE GO TO CLASSICAL MOUTHPIECE
Regarded as one of the most widely embraced mouthpieces across the globe, this model stands out for its exceptional acoustic qualities, delivering a sound that is not only rich but also characterized by precision and nuance. Among its various versions, the C* variant stands as the most popular, earning its status as a go-to choice, especially for those embarking on their first upgrade from a standard student mouthpiece.
What sets this mouthpiece apart is its ability to unlock a diverse range of tonal possibilities, creating a sonic landscape that resonates with depth and clarity. Musicians, particularly those in the early stages of their journey, find the C* variant to be a transformative upgrade, elevating their playing experience and allowing for a more nuanced expression of their musical intentions.
The rich sound produced by this mouthpiece is a result of meticulous craftsmanship and a keen understanding of the intricacies of saxophone design. It strikes a delicate balance between warmth and projection, making it versatile across various musical genres and settings. Whether navigating soulful jazz improvisations or tackling classical repertoire with precision, the C* remains a steadfast companion for musicians seeking reliability and excellence.
Its popularity as the initial step into the realm of professional-grade mouthpieces underscores its reputation as a trusted choice among both educators and performers. The C* not only serves as a gateway to enhanced sonic possibilities but also as a testament to the enduring legacy of quality and craftsmanship associated with this revered mouthpiece. As musicians continue to explore the vast sonic landscape offered by the C*, its enduring popularity solidifies its place as a cornerstone in the world of saxophone performance.

Staff Review
A true classic! Although on the surface the S80 is known for being one of the main go to mouthpieces for classical players, I would argue they have a surprising amount of versatility. I, like a lot of players, bought an S80 C* as my first "proper" mouthpiece, and I used it for several years whilst doing all my graded exams. Recently I had a play around with an S80 F, and I was really impressed! When paired with the right reed the wider tip openings have the potential to produce a full, warm, jazzy tone with a lot of flexibility. Put it on your list to try out next time you're in-store! - Oren Gurney (oren@sax.co.uk)
