Cosmos bipinnatus - Cupcakes and Saucers

Whimsical and wonderfully unique, Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Cupcakes and Saucers’ produces charming blooms with petals fused into delicate cup-shaped flowers in shades of white, blush pink, and rosy pink. Dancing above finely divided, airy foliage on tall, graceful stems, these delightful blossoms bring movement, texture, and old-fashioned charm to the summer garden while attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators.

Growing 3 to 5 feet tall, ‘Cupcakes and Saucers’ makes a spectacular addition to cutting gardens, cottage gardens, pollinator plantings, and sunny borders. The unusual flowers are a conversation starter in fresh bouquets and pair beautifully with zinnias, sunflowers, salvias, rudbeckias, and ornamental grasses. Like other cosmos, this easy-to-grow annual blooms continuously from summer into fall and thrives even in average garden soil.

Plant Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Cupcakes and Saucers’ in full sun with well-drained soil and regular water while becoming established. Avoid overly rich soil, which encourages lush foliage at the expense of flowers. Deadheading spent blooms promotes an even longer flowering season, though allowing a few flowers to mature may reward you with volunteer seedlings the following year.
