Gomphrena - Gnome Purple

Compact, colorful, and wonderfully cheerful, Gomphrena ‘Gnome Purple’ brings bright purple globe-shaped flowers to sunny gardens, containers, and cutting gardens. This easy-care annual, also known as globe amaranth, produces charming clover-like blooms that hold their color beautifully and add playful texture to borders, pollinator plantings, patio pots, and seasonal displays. Long-lasting in the garden and excellent for fresh or dried flowers, it is a small plant with plenty of personality.

Growing into a tidy, compact mound, Gomphrena ‘Gnome Purple’ fits beautifully along pathways, at the front of sunny beds, tucked into mixed containers, or planted in cheerful drifts for bold summer color. Its purple flowers pair wonderfully with zinnias, marigolds, cosmos, salvias, celosia, ornamental grasses, silver foliage, and other heat-loving annuals that create a bright, pollinator-friendly garden display. Bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects are drawn to the blooms, while gardeners appreciate its tidy habit and long season of color.

Plant Gomphrena ‘Gnome Purple’ in full sun with well-drained soil and moderate water while it settles in. Once established, this heat-tolerant annual handles warm weather beautifully and keeps flowering with very little fuss. Bright, durable, and delightfully useful, it is a wonderful choice for adding compact color to sunny spaces. Explore more seasonal favorites in our Annuals collection.
