History, Geography, Bible reading and memorization

Finish your travels through world history. Journey from the fall of Rome through modern world history. Adventure with Vikings, Robin Hood, mighty stallions, missionaries and more.

Children grow in their love for the Lord and build a firm spiritual foundation as you daily read Bible stories with them and memorize scripture with the included Sing the Word!- digital. Your children will also learn how to understand and appreciate the Bible in new ways with the Discoverer's Bible for Young Readers.

Includes Sonlight's History / Bible / Literature C, Intro to World History, Year 2 of 2, 5-Day.

Literature

Sonlight offers two types of literature: Read-Alouds for parents to share with their children, and Readers for children to read on their own. The Read-Alouds offer more sophisticated story lines and rich discussion points, and the Readers offer skill-appropriate and age-appropriate reading practice, enticing children to become literate, book lovers, and eager learners.

Language Arts

Features books at a third-grade reading level with controlled vocabulary, multiple illustrations, compelling stories and short chapters to encourage reading. Includes Grade 3 Readers and Language Arts, 5-Day. Introduce paragraph writing with our exclusive Diamond Notes method and enjoy creative expression assignments in multiple genres.

Spelling & Phonics

Phonics instruction is included in the Sonlight Language Arts Guides for levels K-4. Spelling instruction is phonics-based and also included in the Sonlight Language Arts Guides for levels 1-4. Spelling and Vocabulary is already built into your lesson plans at this level. Spelling and vocabulary words are from the reading you share with your students. This makes practice a natural addition to your homeschool day. We do offer additional resources as desired.

Prerequisite Skill for this Grade 3 All-Subjects Package:
Ideal for children who read long-vowel, 5- and 6-letter words fluently.

Handwriting

This year your children will learn to write neatly, with speed and confidence. Lowercase letters are taught first. The teaching pages feature large step-by-step illustrations and child-friendly language. This program teaches easy techniques for connections and capitals.

We include Handwriting Without Tears in our All-Subjects Packages because it is designed to eliminate problems with reversals, spacing, placement, and letter and numeral formation. But, you are able to customize your package and choose the handwriting program of your choice and still enjoy our best discount of 20% off.

This 3rd grade All-Subjects Package includes Handwriting Without Tears 3.

Science

From electricity and magnetism to ecosystems, Science C nurtures children's natural curiosity and provides daily opportunities to explore the world around them. They will use real scientific skills and practices as they explore living things, ecosystems, chemistry, meteorology, fossils, seas and oceans. Science C includes a high-level introduction to robots, inventions and other STEM topics that will prepare students for a lifetime of scientific curiosity, learning and application.

Weekly science experiments tie directly to the week's reading material for a more linear progression from reading to doing. Thanks to Discover & Do: Science Experiments, your end-of-week experiments reinforce and apply the concepts studied in the days previous so you can plainly see your child's developing mastery of particular science concepts.

Nikola Tesla is the highlighted scientist.

Includes Science C: Forces and Interactions, Life Systems and Cycles, Weather & Climate, and Engineering Design .

Math

Once students have mastered the concepts of addition and subtraction, they are ready for multiplication. In this grade 3 math program, your students will master single-digit facts and multiple-digit multiplication. Includes Math-U-See Gamma, Level Up Set.
