Silene pendula - Sibella Carmine

Few compact annual flowers spill over an edge as gracefully as ‚'Sibella Carmine.' This cheerful trailing annual creates a cascade of vivid rosy-carmine blooms above tidy cushions of fresh green foliage, bringing bright color to hanging baskets, window boxes, rock gardens, raised beds, and container plantings. During peak bloom, the flowers nearly cover the leaves, creating a lush, colorful display that feels abundant, easy, and full of charm.

Growing approximately 6 to 10 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches wide, Sibella Carmine‚ forms a softly trailing mound that is perfect for softening borders, weaving between stones, or tumbling naturally over walls and container edges. Blooming generously from spring into early summer, its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects. It pairs beautifully with violas, alyssum, calendula, nemesia, snapdragons, dianthus, compact grasses, and other cool-season annuals that create a lively, layered garden display.

Plant Sibella Carmine in full sun or light shade with well-drained soil and consistent moisture during active growth. Exceptionally easy to grow from seed, this low-maintenance annual rewards beginning and experienced gardeners alike with weeks of colorful blooms and very little fuss. Bright, compact, and wonderfully floriferous, it is a delightful choice for adding abundant color to small spaces. Explore more seasonal favorites in our Annuals collection.
