Tagetes erecta - Crackerjack Superjack

Big, bold, and bursting with sunshine, Tagetes erecta ‘Crackerjack Superjack’ is a wonderfully exuberant African marigold for gardeners who love flowers with presence. Tall, sturdy plants carry enormous, fully double blooms in glowing shades of yellow, gold, and orange, each one packed with ruffled petals like a little pom-pom of summer light. Cheerful, festive, and impossible to ignore, it brings instant warmth to beds, borders, vegetable gardens, and cutting gardens.

Also known as a tall marigold, ‘Crackerjack Superjack’ grows about 24 to 36 inches tall, giving sunny plantings plenty of height, color, and structure without being difficult to tuck into the garden. It is perfect for bold seasonal displays, mass plantings, pollinator-friendly borders, and bouquets that need a generous dose of golden color. The large, ruffled blooms look especially fabulous with zinnias, cosmos, salvias, amaranthus, sunflowers, celosia, and ornamental grasses for a lush, harvest-season palette.

Plant Tagetes erecta ‘Crackerjack Superjack’ in full sun with regular water. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage an even longer show, then enjoy the parade of glowing blooms through the warm season. Easy, bright, and abundantly floriferous, this classic marigold is a sunny garden workhorse with plenty of old-fashioned charm. Explore more sunny favorites in our Marigold collection.
