Deliciously fragrant and dramatically patterned, Lathyrus odoratus ‘Nimbus’ is a sweet pea vine with soft lavender-white petals beautifully edged and veined in deep smoky purple. Each bloom looks hand-painted, bringing a romantic, antique quality to spring gardens, fragrant borders, and cutting gardens.
Also known as Nimbus Sweet Pea, this annual climbing vine produces large flowers on long, strong stems that are just right for bouquets. Let it climb trellises, fences, obelisks, arbors, or netting where the blooms can be enjoyed up close and the scent can drift through the garden. The marbled flowers pair beautifully with cream, blush, apricot, deep burgundy, silver foliage, and other heirloom sweet peas.
Plant Lathyrus odoratus ‘Nimbus’ in full sun to light afternoon shade with rich, well-drained soil, regular water, and sturdy support. Cut flowers often and remove seed pods to keep the bloom show coming. Moody, fragrant, and utterly graceful, it is a bouquet treasure. Explore more fragrant climbers in our Lathyrus - Sweet Pea collection.
