Ipomoea - Carnevale di Venezia

Striped, swirling, and deliciously theatrical, Ipomoea ‘Carnivale di Venezia’ brings the feeling of a summer masquerade to the garden. Its large morning glory blooms are splashed, streaked, and brushed in violet, blue-purple, pink, and white, with no two flowers looking exactly the same. Each bloom feels like a little watercolor surprise, opening fresh and luminous against lush green foliage as the vine climbs skyward.

As a morning glory vine, this fast-growing annual climber is listed at about 12 to 24 inches tall, but its twining stems can climb or trail much farther with support, often reaching 6 to 10 feet in a season. Give it a trellis, fence, arbor, obelisk, porch rail, or roomy container, and it will quickly create a romantic curtain of foliage and wildly patterned flowers. The bold, painterly blooms are especially beautiful with silver foliage, chartreuse leaves, white flowers, soft grasses, and warm-toned annuals, adding playful vertical drama to cottage gardens, patio plantings, and sunny borders.

Plant Ipomoea ‘Carnivale di Venezia’ in full sun with regular water and provide support early so the twining stems can begin their climb. Lush, quick, and full of personality, this showy morning glory is perfect for gardeners who love flowers with movement, color, and a little bit of spectacle.
