Salvia greggii - Mirage Blue

Cool, colorful, and wonderfully inviting to hummingbirds, Salvia greggii ‘Mirage Blue’ brings clear blue-purple flowers and tidy, aromatic foliage to sunny garden spaces. This long-blooming autumn sage is a beautiful choice for borders, containers, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and water-wise landscapes where steady color and wildlife value are always welcome. Compact, floriferous, and easy to enjoy, it adds a fresh, elegant note to warm-season plantings.

Growing into a tidy, upright perennial shrub, Salvia greggii ‘Mirage Blue’ fits beautifully along pathways, in sunny mixed borders, or tucked into patio containers where its flowers can be enjoyed up close. Its nectar-rich blooms attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects, while the aromatic foliage adds texture and resilience. Pair it with yarrow, lavender, gaura, catmint, ornamental grasses, verbena, silver foliage, and other drought-tolerant perennials for a layered, pollinator-friendly garden display.

Plant Salvia greggii ‘Mirage Blue’ in full sun with well-drained soil and low to moderate water once established. Deadhead or lightly shear after bloom cycles to encourage fresh growth and continued flowering. Colorful, deer-resistant, heat-tolerant, and wonderfully low-maintenance, this compact Salvia is a standout for sunny spaces with plenty of pollinator activity.
