Lavandula x intermedia - Phenomenal

Acclaimed across the country for its vigor, fragrance, and adaptability, Lavandula x intermedia ‘Phenomenal’ truly earns its name. This exceptional lavender forms an elegant, rounded mound of aromatic silver-green foliage topped with abundant purple flower spikes, bringing classic Mediterranean beauty to sunny borders, herb gardens, pollinator plantings, and containers.

Also known as Phenomenal Lavender, this hardy perennial is prized for its tolerance of heat, humidity, and colder winters compared with many lavender varieties. Bees and butterflies adore the fragrant blooms, and gardeners love the cut flowers for fresh bouquets, dried bundles, sachets, and culinary-inspired garden displays. Its tidy habit pairs beautifully with roses, yarrow, salvia, ornamental grasses, thyme, and other drought tolerant perennials.

Plant Lavandula x intermedia ‘Phenomenal’ in full sun with sharply drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance. Avoid soggy soil and prune lightly after bloom to keep plants compact. Explore more fragrant classics in our Lavandula collection.

Expect a rounded mound about 2–3 feet tall and wide, topped by longer flowering stems in summer. Leave enough air around the crown, keep mulch away from the woody base, and let lean conditions preserve the fragrance and naturally compact form.
